Marius Hammer Arts & Crafts Presentation Bowl - 830 Silver

We don't know who received this bowl but they must have been one heck of a bridge player to have their club present them with this in 1914!
The bottom is engraved with:
FRA BRIDGEKLUBBEN AF 1914
BERGE JRGENS SELMER
Made by Marius Hammer (1847-1927) in the Norwegian town of Bergan, Mr. Hammer shows us exactly what superb craftsmanship and design are all about. As true arts & crafts piece, this bowl will have no problem fitting into any home.  Perfect as a centerpiece bowl on your dining table or for any location that needs just a bit of spark.  We have searched for similar bowls made by him and can't find anything close.   Definitely a special piece of Norwegian silver.
Made of heavy gauge silver, the bowl has a soft hand-hammered look and is 8 5/8" x 3 1/4" weighing 366.4 grams. Marked for Marius Hammer and 830S. Some fine scratches with age.  Also, there is an indentation in the center of the bowl (see pictures)...nothing that would cause issues or concern.
Based on customer preference, we only lightly polish our silver.  Insurance is always included with shipping - no exceptions.
